Dating is exciting, exhilarating, and a bit confusing all at the same time. When you’ve been dating someone for a while, whether it’s months or even the better part of a year, you reach a point where you want to know exactly where you stand with this special someone. Is he being loyal? Is she in it for the long haul? Do they see a promising future with you?

To help you gauge their dedication (perhaps even yours), our Dallas matchmakers have put together a list of surefire signs they’re loyal, in love, and committed. Get ready to find out where you stand, as our Dallas matchmakers reveal the signs you’re in a committed relationship.

Piggy Back Through Festive City

1. You’ve met their family and friends.

Meeting their friends is a good sign, but meeting their family is an even better one. If you’ve met their siblings and parents, consider yourself in a committed relationship. Most men and women don’t introduce their friends and family to just anyone. They need to trust you to bring you in to that personal space, especially family functions. And if they happen to have children of their own and you’ve met them, consider yourself a very special part of their life. Men and women don’t introduce their children to someone they don’t see a bright future with.

2. You go on vacations together.

Who doesn’t like going on vacation? Better yet, who doesn’t like vacationing with someone special? If you’re vacationing together, that’s a surefire sign you’re in a committed relationship. Not only does it show that you’re both comfortable and happy to spend several days together, but it also signifies that you can work together and compromise when choosing a place to go. If you’re making great memories together on vacation, you can rest easy knowing your partner is committed and in it for the long haul.

3. There’s no more “me” talk.

This one might not seem very telling to a lot of people out there, but here at Dallas & Fort Worth Singles, we know it’s a big tell of a committed relationship. When all the “me” talk turns into “we” talk, that’s a fabulous sign you’re deeply committed to one another.

All that self-centeredness of singledom goes out the window and you become focused on yourselves as a couple – as a unit. This doesn’t mean you are no longer your own individual selves or that you lose your independence, but your bond and unity is at its best now. You’re now a team going through life together, through the good times and the bad, and no longer facing the world alone.

4. You go the extra mile for one another.

Being kind and caring should come naturally in a relationship. If you’re each able to go the extra mile with random acts of kindness without feeling like you put in a grueling amount of effort, that’s a great sign you’re truly in love and in a committed relationship. In fact, you look forward to and enjoy doing nice things for each other.

5. You move in together.

This one should go without saying, but we’ll say it anyways. If you’ve already moved in together, whether you rented a condo or bought a house, then you should already know where you each stand in this relationship. And even if you’ve discussed the idea of cohabitating, but have not yet done so, you’re in a committed relationship. The idea or act of sharing not only your space but time with one another goes to show your level of commitment and seriousness for each other and the relationship.

So tell us, are you in a committed relationship? Did you notice a handful – or hopefully all of – these signs with your partner? If so, then you already have your answer. Congrats to you for finding that special someone who’s in it for the long haul.
